To The Peak

Summit trail. From Laban Rata, we had to hike 2.7km to the highest peak in Malaysia.

Amelia busy checking the list of people who wanted to go to the summit.

Somehow the weather conditions had improved slightly from the night. The guide agreed to take us up the peak with some conditions. Only those arriving at Laban Rata before 5:30pm on the day before were allowed to go. We were warned that the climb would be physically taxing.

The chief guide giving us a briefing. We were warned of strong winds and wet slippery conditions. Each climber go at his/her own risk. Their job was to take us up there and if anyone decide to not continue, he/ she would have to turn back without the guide. 30 of us raised to the challenge.

Getting ready for the summit climb.

I was wearing:

4 layers of tops - 2 t-shirts, 1 wool sweater and 1 adidas jacket.

2 layers of bottoms - Timbaland track inside and another on outside

1 scarf

1 pair of thinsulate gloves

1 thinsulate hat

Still I felt so coooooooold!
