Our Heroes!

Chan Yoke & Leong Huat made it to the Kinabalu peak!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Final notes:

Even though I was a bit disappointed for not making it to the peak, I must say that it was the most MEMORABLE climb compared to the previous two. The rain. The wind. The chill. The steep rocky turns. The muddy trail. The slippery rocks. Now, I had the bragging right and stories to tell when people talk about climbing the Kinabalu! Heheh!

Thank you for visiting my blog. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I love to recieve feedback from you, so please take some time to put down your comments.

See you in the next Kinabalu climb? :)

Nice work! - got to say something nice since my photos are here.;). Seriously, I'm no hero. The real heroes are the guides rescueing damsels in distress. Hope this inspire others to reach the summit next year because if this former fat guy can do it, so can others.

Cheers!

Yup...most important in a climbing trip not only reach summit, but the team spirit and help each other, that will be memorable in our life.

U all may be can try next time in first half of the year.

I have more worst in Mt K trip experience, worst is 9pm reach laban rata from Mesilau, raining, cold, hungry and heavy of my rucksack(around 22kg),almost 12hrs to carry.

Most important is safety and then enjoy the progress of the climbing.

Cheers...

I definately went out of my comfort zone. I'm no outdoor girl & my idea of exercise equals to this: MTV, good music, comfy environment & a few cute guys here & there...
So... even though i didn't make it to the peak, i am proud of myself & the entire team as we truly went out of our comfort zone.
Will i do this again? ... Not sure.
Cheers,
Georgia

wow, you guys and gals had one heck of a climb!!!! I cinya salute you all facing such unpleasant weather. It was my guide who told me of this incident when I was up at the summit last week, and only knew that was your group when I read the blog.

georgia, give it another shot and hopefully under much better weather condition. best time to be there is between april-june, but again no guarantee.

I stumbled on this blog from Facebook and enjoyed reading the articles. Excellent write up by Pueh Tiam and tremendous effort by the whole team. I climbed Mount KK in 2006 and the weather was not good, it rained all through the journey but it was not as tough as yours. So, well done to the team. One sour note with this blog is that many who sees this blog (I know quite a few of them) will shy away from attempting the climb but that will be their loss. This blog extols the many reasons why it should be done and I hope they see that, keep it up.

Hi Pueh Tian, I got to this blog when I was FBing and saw the video clip done by your friend. He made a very nice video on all his climbs with his buddies in 2007 with a very nice background song. Finally, followed by a video clip of the strong wind climbing. I can't help myself but to do my personal comments here (since I don't know that friend of yours in FB).

Your friend's FB video reminds me of all the trekkings I have done with MNS and my 'trekking kaki' way back 10 years ago. Oh, how I miss all of those!!!

And your KK trip blog is one amazing blog to read too! Especially with all those interesting photos and definitely 'quicken' heartbeats videos! I have climbed KK twice too but I am surprised that they allowed you all to climb up despite the orange warning! Anyway, bravo to all of you!
